Telemedicine and morning gymnastics at Folkemødet 2015
This year CIMT participated in Folkemødet on Bornholm for the first time. CIMT participated with a stand which was well attended during the four sunny days.
At the stand, there was a good dialogue with the many visitors about the technologies on display, and most were positive about the developments that OUH and CIMT presented regarding health technology. Many had useful thoughts and suggestions regarding the solutions that can be used in the further development work at OUH.
Events and telemedical morning gymnastics at the stand
In addition to letting the visitors try out new technologies, four events were held at the stand, where professionals from the healthcare system and patient associations gave short presentations, after which they discussed various topics regarding healthcare and healthcare technology in small groups with the event participants.
This type of non-traditional event was received extremely positively by the audience, who were happy to be involved and to be able to talk to the 'experts'. On Friday morning, there was also telemedical morning gymnastics, where all passers-by were invited to a morning workout under the expert guidance of a physiotherapist from OUH - via video conference equipment.
CIMT at panel debates
In addition to looking after the stand, CIMT's participants were also extremely active elsewhere at Folkemødet. OUH's executive director and chairman of the hospital's Innovation Council Peder Jest took part in panel debates at both FOA and Kasters/Meningsministeriet, where also the chairman of the Danish Lung Association, the director of Danish Patients and the deputy chairman of the Practitioners' Organization (PLO) participated in "We treat Denmark - debate on telemedicine."
Innovation consultant Dorthe Boe Danbjørg took part in the event "Welfare technology and (in)equality for citizens" at FOA, and associate professor Jane Clemensen was on a radio show on Radio Folkemødet - a radio show which was about inequality in the healthcare system and how a centre like CIMT can help make a difference.
"We were very happy to participate in Folkemødet this year. We entered into a good dialogue with both citizens and decision-makers from various areas, and we were invited to many events because people were interested in hearing what CIMT and OUH can and want to do. I hope that we can participate again next year, possibly in a joint stand with other of our good partners from the health cluster in Odense", says Peder Jest, executive director at OUH and chairman of the hospital's Innovation Council.
