HTA in Cologne
CIMT’s HTA consultants contributed to the world congress Health Technology Assessment international (HTAi) in Cologne.
The participants included:
-
Anne Mette Ølholm presented the evaluation of en electronic PROM system for General Practice, which showed that both patients and GP’s were content with the technological system for collecting PROM data.
-
Tue Kjølhede presented the evaluation of an app for young people with diabetes. The evaluation was executed for the Danish Agency for Digitisation.
-
Maja Kjær Rasmussen presented the evaluation of Kristina Garne Holm’s PhD project on telemedical home admission for children born prematurely. The evaluation showed that the home admissions have a positive clinical effect without increasing expenses for the hospital.
Before the congress, Head of Socio-Economic Research in CIMT Kristian Kidholm teached a course in health technology assessment and was appointed chair of a task group, which will tailor a similar course for Chinese hospitals for next year’s HTAi congress in Beijing.
For Kristian Kidholm this type of congress shows that health technology assessment has evolved: “Previously, we were asked to explain how to assess health technology, but today, we more often tell how health technology assessment can be used as a tool to choose the right digital solutions”.
