Designation and implementation of efficient telemedicine
In 2019, the government and the Danish Regions agreed that a new financing model should be introduced for Danish hospitals.
PROJECT PERIOD
Start: August 2019
End: May 2020
The new financing model had i.a. increased focus on the use of digital health technologies, including telemedicine, for Danish patients.
However, there was a lack of overview of both clinical effect, patient satisfaction as well as organisational and financial consequences for telemedicine, so it should not be introduced uncritically.
AIM
The purpose of the project was to designate well-functioning telemedicine divided into the various medical specialties based on
- a review of the scientific literature
- contact with project managers from active technologies from MedCom’s telemedicine map, and
- conducting interviews with key people in the field of telemedicine in the country’s five regions
