TTRN PhD course 2020

This year’s TTRN Summer Institute PhD course is finished after five insightful days. This year, the course was a virtual event because of the COVID19 pandemic.

The themes were: Digital health technologies and artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector.

The course was arranged by associate professor Nick Anderson and assistant professor Kathy Kim from US Davis in California, professor Birthe Dinesen from the University of Aalborg and professor Kristian Kidholm from the University of Southern Denmark/Odense University Hospital.

The lecturers were once again a cross-curricular group with experts from health sciences, social sciences and technical sciences, and the aim of the course was to introduce the students to research methods which they can use in their own research projects on new digital possibilities for treatment.

This year’s course was the fourth PhD course, and the number of students keeps growing. This year, 36 students from China, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore and the USA participated in the course.

The Danish students started the PhD course together at Odense University Hospital where they received their own official TTRN course coffee mug and socialised with dinner together.

The PhD course 2019 took place in Odense with students from all over the world. Next year’s PhD course will take place in Aalborg from 9.-13. August.
