Research results from the project Active Patient Support are here

On Tuesday 17 May 2022, the research results from the large, nationwide project Active Patient Support were published, where CIMT contributed with the economic evaluation.

Active Patient Support was a three-year nationwide project in which specially coach-trained nurses helped patients with several chronic diseases by telephone to guide them through their illness, their options and the health service’s offers.

The economic evaluation showed that:

  • Active Patient Support improves citizens’ quality of life and ability to cope with their own illness, but the effect is modest.
  • Active Patient Support does not reduce the total costs of treatment per citizen.
  • Active Patient Support entails total costs of 2.3 million DKK per extra year of life adjusted for better quality of life.
