Camera pill shows promising results after pilot project

At OUH's Department of Surgery, a pilot project has been conducted with camera pill technology for screening for signs of bowel cancer to see if it could be a possible replacement or supplement for current screening methods.

The first results have now been published and are included in articles in both Ny Viden and Fyens Stiftstidende today.

After testing on 50 patients, it is clear that the pill camera captures at least as much as a colonoscopy - and it is also less risky and more comfortable for the patients.

The project is now entering the next phase, where the technology must be tested on a further 250 patients, and several aspects must be uncovered.
