Overview of patient use of the app My Hospital

More than 25 clinical wards at Odense University Hospital (OUH) have a patient journey in the app My Hospital, and between 20.000 and 25.000 patients used My Hospital in 2017. But assessments of apps for patients at OUH and other hospitals show that only a small part of the patients use apps and that they often stop using the app after a short period of time. This means that the wards must improve their patient journey regularly, and the best basis for developing the app is data about the patients’ activity in the app.

The data exists in My Hospital as complex data files, but it requires great effort from each ward to make data accessible and comprehensible as tables and figures.

The aim of the project is to ensure that data files are automatically converted to figures and tables which each clinical ward can read and use as a basis for improving the app My Hospital.

The project will:

  1. find the types of statistics and graphs that the clinical staff need to assess the patients’ use of My Hospital.
  2. develop a module with MedWare to make data accessible and easy to understand.
  3. test the module in clinical wards.
  4. fine-tune the module before it can be distributed to all wards.
