Digital Care-call for patients
Because of the COVID-19 epidemic patient call by the means of the call-string from the hospitalized COVID-19 patients are challenged and timeconsuming because of the strong requirements to protective gear that takes time to put on and off again afterwards. It is a well-known challenge from the isolation wards in general, but COVID-19 gives rise to a focused effort, as the number of isolation wards potentially can be high.
The patient call is a general challenge – and not just regarding isolation because the staff does not know to cause for the patient call. They have to stop the ongoing patient contact or assignment in order to check up on the cause of the call.
AIM
The aim of this project is to develop and test a Digital Care-call, where the patient can specify the call by the means of a tablet mounted at the bed. The staff will then receive the call on a smartphone. A specified, digital call enables the staff to make a qualified and substantiated decision about prioritizing of assignments, and at the same time save time on protective gear and extra work procedures. The solution is also to ensure that the staff gains an overview over who is solving the assignment and that the patient gets feedback as soon as the call is registered.
